PUBLIC WORKS LABORER
The Township of Crescent, Allegheny County is seeking a full-time employee for the position of Public Works Laborer. General Definition: An employee in the position of Laborer who performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled road and street related duties requiring strenuous effort and occasional exposure to inclement working conditions.
Description: - This is a skilled maintenance position with the Township.
The employee must perform a variety of tasks related to the Township infrastructure and buildings involving the operation of vehicles, equipment and manual labor. Operate all types of equipment utilized in these activities and recognize the importance of working cooperatively with fellow employees and the public. Work includes responsibility for ensuring the proper materials, tools, and equipment at work sites and performing in accordance with safety regulations. Work is performed under direction and is reviewed through observation, conferences and reports. The employee must be able to complete all jobs as assigned without requiring constant supervision.
Immediate Supervisor: Public Works Foreman
Essential Duties: Typical duties include, but are not limited to the following:
Required Knowledge, Skill and Abilities: Knowledge of and experience in the use of mowers, saws, trimmers and any other tool necessary in the every day work assignments.
Education: - High School Diploma or G.E.D.
Experience: - One (1) year experience in driving and knowledge of outdoor work
Other: - Must hold a valid Pennsylvania Drivers License, valid Class B Commercial Drivers License (C.D.L) with air brake endorsements.
Experience as a skilled welder a plus. Must pass Crescent Township pre-employment physical and drug test
